5th Avenue is Manchester’s number one indie experience. Since the early 1990′s when in the Madchester era 80′s nightclub legends was renamed 5th Avenue, we have been hosting the biggest and best indie nights in the city.
With a largely student based clientele, we have become the student capital of the North West. When the infamous Hacienda closed in 1997 and bar culture took over Manchester, 5th Avenue kept going strong and is now more successful than ever.
At Jabez Clegg, we’re not ashamed to come out and say we are an institution! Since 1991 we’ve been every students favourite watering hole. A stone’s throw from the university, we understand how hard it must be to avoid the temptation of popping in for a quick one (or two) at the end of a busy day. So we keep our prices as low as we can. Negresco Bar is a very unusual, yet very unique bar with absolutely loads of character. They serve good food and even better beverages to wash it all down. A Horror or Indie film would suit this establishment very well. Dark and classy.
